Strep & Happy New Year

George threw up at the movies on New Year's Eve. Ugh.
Then late yesterday he broke out in a rash ... helping to identify what's wrong with him as strep throat. We were all ready to call the doctor this morning when Estelle started throwing up too - so they both went and were both quickly positive on the throat swab. Oh boy! At least we got chewable antibiotics. Oatmeal bath and Benadryl are supposed to help George's rash as well. Plus we had to throw out toothbrushes.
John's birthday yesterday was quiet. We had Kenny over for dinner of sausage and hoppin' John. The kids wanted the rice and peas separate, so I let them do that, then they ended up mixing them together anyhow!
We took down the Christmas tree today. Still putting all the Hallmark ornaments back in boxes. Need to clean up in the attic before re-storing everything. No Land's End bear this year but John thinks I should put all the bears back into their boxes for storage instead of keeping them out. Since "out" means they are in George's closet he's probably right.
Hopefully kids will be healthy enough to go back to school tomorrow. I have a feeling work is going to be busy!
